About South Carolina School Improvement Council:
SC School Improvement Council supports the 17,000 parents, educators, community members and students who volunteer their services on School Improvement Councils in over 1100 public schools. That support is provided by direct training, services, and publications designed to develop and advance the councils' role and capacity to participate in the state's improvement and accountability process. A full time staff of two professionals and one support person are guided by statute, proviso, and a Board of Trustees made up of business and civic leaders from across the state. SC-SIC is located in the College of Education at USC, an effective example of a higher education and community partnership that has completed its 25th year of service to South Carolina.
