Two New Products From SEDL

Southwest Educational Development Labratory (SEDL)'s National Center for Family & Community Connections with Schools announces the release of two useful products to connect you with the latest research on family and community connections with schools.

The first product, Emerging Issues in School, Family, & Community Connections, is a synthesis report, which identifies key issues related to school, family, and community connections that must be addressed for practitioners to make effective connections. The report, the first in a series of five, is based on a review of more than 160 publications, including research, practice, and theory. It highlights promising new areas of research and unanswered questions about the process and results of these connections. You can download this report as a full text PDF at www.sedl.org/connections/resources/. You may also call SEDL at 1-800-476-6861 to request a print copy of this document (Contact: Artie Stockton).

The Center's second product is "The Connection Collection: School-Family-Community Publications Database." This searchable database contains short summaries of over 140 publications. The Collection, updated on a regular basis, includes the latest research articles, program and practice evaluations, and theoretical publications. Search the database by author, title, and keyword to find the latest information about school, family, community connections.
